This is the role
We supply innovative and sustainable stone wool growing media solutions for the professional horticultural sector, based on Precision Growing principles. Stone wool growing media are offered together with tailor-made advice and innovative tools to support Precision Growing enabling growers to achieve the best crop quality possible.

As a Substrate Application Specialist, you translate customer needs and demands into functional specifications as a basis for the development of substrate applications and related tools and services.
You (co)develop green knowledge to support development of products, advice and services. You are responsible for initiating, leading and participating in different (smaller) market-, application- and research oriented activities resulting in relevant knowledge.
To make sure your internal and external customers have relevant knowledge, you provide trainings, write manuals and give advice.
You will monitor the quality of our products, handle green quality complaints and generate more founded knowledge in case of structural green quality problems. Next to monitoring our own product quality, you will also monitor quality performance of Grodan’s competitor products.

This is what you offer
  • Bachelor /HBO+ Degree or higher preferably in horticulture, agriculture or (plant) biology;
  • 3+ years work experience in horticulture, related to plant growth and production;
  • Experience with project based way of working;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Knowledge of business to business processes;
  • Strong knowledge network within the horticulture industry;
  • Sensitive towards new trends and innovations in the horticulture industry;
  • Able to abstract practical issues and vice versa;
  • A proven ability to maintain internal and external contacts and act and communicate at different levels in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
