Your job:
As a process engineer you are closely involved in solving process related problems and continuously improving the existing production processes. Together with the local production teams, you have to define the right solutions based on process technology assumptions and calculations and elaborate them in a project scope or a modification at the factory. As a member of the project teams you also play an important role in the engineering and start-up of projects. The diversity of production processes and locations create a challenging job. Execution of the tasks means that you have to travel and stay regularly at one of the production sites in Europe.
You are part of the engineering department.

Your most important tasks:
  • You support local production teams to optimize operational performance and in solving process related problems.
  • Assist our operators in troubleshooting activities whilst effectively devising and implementing improvement proposals/ initiatives.
  • Combine strong theoretical knowledge with the vast practical experience from our operators to jointly improve our performance.
  • You initiate and carry out improvement studies and projects at the various PQ locations in Europe with focus on costs, quality, output, environment and safety.
  • You are part of the project team for investment projects, where you are responsible for the process design and start-up of the project.
  • You are actively involved in process safety within existing or new processes.

From a process engineer we expect:
  • MSc in chemical engineering and preferably 3-5 years of experience in the chemical process industry.
  • That you work involvement based and are willing to travel regularly and for a longer period of time to the various PQ production locations in Europe.
  • The ability of profoundly and independently investigate a problem and work out a conceptual design.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinker who can work effectively as part of a dynamic team, communicating at all levels.
  • Excellent appreciation for EHS and Process Safety Standards within a high hazard environment is essential.
  • You are a critical observer.
  • You are able to present your project proposals and results in a convincing manner to both business and manufacturing management.
  • You have a persevering and challenging attitude towards your work environment, but you can also accept other views.
  • A good command English language is a requirement. Besides the English language you have good knowledge of Dutch, French and / or German.
